#TransInFashion day on Twitter

So today is #TransInFashion day on Twitter. What is it? It's an idea cooked up by Dr. Emmy Zje as a way to help us all combat the blahs from being inside and to give us a reason to jazz it up a bit.

To the left is a casual selfie, just wearing a cute smiley t-shirt and black Garage leggings (which are so comfortable).

The next image, to the right, is a bit more dressed up. I have this super-cute Kate Spade dress (okay, Kate Spade is usually super cute) that I haven't really had a reason to wear, so now I have one!

As an aside, those glasses only have blue light filtering lenses in them. While I do wear contact lenses, and seldom wear glasses, these are ones that I got on Amazon as a means of feminizing my face more. They help, I don't get quite the dysphoric feeling seeing a masculine face in the mirror with these on.

I identify as... Stop! It's what I am.

The expression "identifies as" gets used a lot when talking about trans and non-binary people. It's also used by a lot of bigots to denigrate the trans experience. It's an expression that I would like to see fade away.

What does dysphoria feel like to me?

This question made the rounds on Twitter recently and it's a powerful and deeply interesting one I think. However, before I dive into how it feels for me, I want to be clear: dysphoria is not a requirement for being trans.
